How We May Be Able to Help
Community pharmacists can assess a growing range of everyday health concerns and provide professional advice. Where the pharmacist is appropriately qualified and the service is suitable, this may also include prescribing treatment following an individual clinical assessment.
Discuss Your Symptoms
Tell the pharmacist what you have been experiencing, how long it has been affecting you and any concerns you may have.
Receive an Individual Assessment
Your symptoms, medical history, medicines and other relevant information may be reviewed to help determine the appropriate next step.
Advice or Treatment Where Suitable
Depending on the assessment and the service available, the pharmacist may provide advice, recommend treatment or prescribe where clinically appropriate.
Referral When Needed
If the concern requires further investigation or falls outside the service, you may be advised to contact your GP, NHS 111 or another appropriate healthcare provider.
